From Us to You

We want to start off by saying that we can only imagine the hardship and whirlwind of emotions that come with considering adoption. We commend you for having the courage to consider this process. We realize that choosing a permanent home for your child must be a daunting task. We know that you will read many of these letters and we hope to give you an honest look at our lives and a potential future for your child.

We are happily married and have been together since 2018. Brooklyn was born and raised California and has also spent time living in London, England, and Portland, Oregon. Aaron grew up in California. We recently purchased our first house in a safe, quiet neighborhood close to our childhood homes. Our home is surrounded by numerous parks and trees, has friendly neighbors and is only two miles from the beach.

Family is extremely important to both of us. We each have two brothers, and both of our parents are still happily married. We also have a large extended family, many of whom live locally. Brooklyn has two nieces and two sisters-in-law. Holidays are especially important to both sides of our family. We gather every year for both Christmas and Thanksgiving, with large groups of extended family and enjoy excellent food and company. We take pride in having traditions like Christmas Eve dinners, decorating fresh Christmas trees, and handing out Halloween candy every year. We are also the proud owners of a beautiful dog named Waffles. He is half Husky and half Akita and looks like a little white wolf. He is such a sweet, gentle dog and is an important part of our family. We love him dearly. Throughout our lives our families have helped us immensely and formed us into the people we are today. We will continue to provide a strong and supportive family environment for your child and to always be there for them no matter what happens.

Aaron is a machinist at a family-owned company and manufactures parts for the U.S. military. He enjoys working with his hands and fixing cars and things around the house. Brooklyn loves working with children and has been doing so for over 18 years. She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and it has helped her over the years while working with children. She currently works as a teacher with students from kindergarten to ninth grade. Although she loves her job, she plans to become a stay-at-home mom once we have a child in the house. We are both extremely fortunate that our parents took us to all sorts of beautiful and exotic places in the world. We will expose your child to the world of travel, so they can share the experiences that we had. We both share a strong love for the outdoors and will show your child the majestic beauty of nature. We look forward to camping, fishing, hiking, skiing, boating, and many more adventures with your child. We love going to Disneyland together, but Brooklyn is really the biggest fan in our household, so she cannot wait to share that passion with your child. Aaron cannot wait to teach your child to ride a bicycle and eventually a dirt bike.

Our parents helped us to be successful in school and we will give your children the same opportunities. We live within an excellent school system, and we will be there to help them succeed with all their educational goals. Since education is very valued in our family, we will also help them financially once they get into college. It is our goal that they learn as much as possible, not only from their schooling but from their life experiences as well.

Thank you so much for reading this letter from us to you. We consider all children to be gifts and are hoping that you will give us the most wonderful gift imaginable by adding a beautiful child to our family.

Sincerely,

Brooklyn and Aaron

Why We're Choosing to Adopt

We tried for years to get pregnant without luck. So, we pursued IVF and all the appointments, pain, medications and expenses that are involved in that process. We were thrilled to learn that Brooklyn was pregnant! Unfortunately, at five months along, Brooklyn went into premature labor, and we lost our son, Cody. Losing a child was the hardest thing we have ever gone through. It was a long, hard journey. However, we still long to have a family and now realize that family doesn’t have to share our DNA. We are so excited to be on this new journey, to meet you, and to have our dream of family come true.

About Aaron, by Brooklyn

Aaron is thoughtful, optimistic, outgoing, kindhearted, active, adventurous, fun, loyal, and so much more! He is a wonderful best friend and husband and father to our dog, Waffles. Aaron will be a wonderful father to your child. He has young cousins who live nearby he is wonderful with them and our two nieces. Aaron is also a wonderful chef, and we love cooking together. He is an avid reader and enjoys dirt bikes. Aaron is everything that I have ever dreamed for; he is not only the best husband but he is the best human being that I know.

Aaron is a machinist and works for a family-owned company. He’s good at his job and fixing or building anything with his hands, including projects around the house and working on cars. Aaron knows everything about cars and the auto industry! He often helps other people with projects on their vehicles and shares his knowledge of the industry. Friends and family regularly come to him for advice on fishing as well. Aaron is the best fisherman I have ever met! He knows so much about fish and their environments. He is very intelligent; he enjoys and knows a lot about history and all kinds of different subjects. I love that about him. He is so excited to finally become a father and he is the perfect man for the job.

About Brooklyn, by Aaron

Brooklyn is an amazing wife, and I am incredibly fortunate to have her in my life. She is kind and loving and tries as hard as she can to make sure everyone lives their best life. She will drop everything not only to help me but for any of our friends and family.  She is a very strong and tenacious person who will fight to make sure she and her family are treated fairly. She shares my great love for the outdoors and appreciates the endless beauty of nature. Brooklyn is very sensitive to other people’s emotions and relationships and has helped many people to better their lives. A lot of her knowledge comes from her bachelor’s degree in psychology and her constant desire to both understand and help people. She is destined to become an excellent mother and has been working with children of all ages for over eighteen years. She is an absolute master of everything involving children. It is pure joy to see her in her element while working with children. Almost all of her jobs have related to children, from teaching, to being an ABA therapist and everything in between. Brooklyn also shares my love for traveling and has traveled to a lot of exciting places and she feels very fortunate about this. She is a kid at heart, loves Disney and hopes to share that with your child. I am so beyond grateful to have her as my beautiful wife  the mother of our future children.

Our Home

We are extremely fortunate to have reached the point in our lives where we were able to purchase our first home a couple years ago. We chose a home in a beautiful, coastal city. We live in a charming town, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There are numerous parks, beaches, historical sites, and a waterfront with restaurants, bars, shops, and a World War II battleship. Our home itself has been completely renovated. It was fully finished right before we moved in. We have 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. Our home also has a detached garage and a wonderful outdoor seating area with a hot tub and a fireplace. We could not be happier with the neighborhood as it is the perfect place to raise a family.

Our Sweet Pup

Our dog, Waffles, is a full Siberian Huskey that is all white with light blue eyes. He will be four years old in April and Aaron’s mother’s birthday and one of our anniversaries is on the same day! We adopted him through a rescue, and he was initially found under a bridge with a homeless man who could not provide for him anymore. The rescue fostered him and trained him for an entire year before we adopted him. We were so fortunate to find the best dog ever; not only is he completely trained, but he is beyond sweet, and we are so happy to have him be a part of our family. We take him almost everywhere, including vacations if we are taking the car. He is extremely loved, and very well taken care of. He gets along with all dogs and children and our entire family adores him. We cannot wait to introduce him to your child, and we know that he will be a big part of their lives, which we are excited about.

Our Families

Aaron has two younger brothers. His mother and father are still married and live with the youngest son, Adam, in Aaron’s childhood home. Aaron’s other brother, Phillip, lives in San Diego. Both brothers have great jobs and work extremely hard. Aaron’s father, William, works during the week and his mother, Nancy, keeps herself busy during the week as a top-notch volunteer. They love to stay active on the weekends spending time outdoors and riding their tandem bike.

Brooklyn’s immediate family consists of two older brothers, their wives and 2 nieces. Her parents are also still married. Blake is the eldest and lives with his wife, Junko, and their two children, Alice, and Anna. Ben, her other brother, lives with his wife Ellie. We’re lucky that they all live nearby. Her parents, Nadine and Ty, still live in the home where she grew up. Ty is retired and Nadine is also a top-notch volunteer and stays remarkably busy in her community. They also love to spend time outdoors just like Aaron’s parents. We are very close with both of our families and love spending time with them. We will instill the love we both have for our families in your child and look forward to seeing the beautiful relationships that they build with their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Family Traditions

Our traditions include family gatherings for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, as well as traveling up to Mammoth Mountain for summer fun and again in the winter to enjoy the snow. Our families enjoy large dinners with ham, turkey, and extensive sides for twenty people or more on Thanksgiving. On Christmas Eve we gather with Brooklyn’s family for dinner. This year the dinner included homemade short ribs, duck, and lobster and the whole family helped cook the meal – so much fun! On Christmas morning we go back to Brooklyn’s family’s home to have Christmas breakfast and open gifts with just immediate family. In the afternoon we head south a few miles to celebrate the rest of our Christmas with Aaron’s side of the family – both immediate and extended. Both of our families love to travel to the Mammoth Lakes area. It is so pretty and includes 14,000-foot peaks. It also includes expansive forests, lakes, and rivers. We love going with both of our families every year. It is such a special and magical time. We usually to go up during the wintertime with Brooklyn’s side of the family and we during the summertime with Aaron’s side of the family.

Our Lifestyle

Our lives are piled high with lots of love and adventure. We know that we could have used multiple words to describe our lives, but those are the two words that first come to mind when we thought about our lifestyle. Ever since we met, adventure has been a constant. From off-roading to snowboarding down a beautiful mountain and everything in between. On the weekends we try to get outdoors and do something fun, exciting, and or relaxing, but normally it is always an adventure. We may do something larger on the adventure scale like camping out in nature under the stars or hiking around a remote trail or traveling to a new country or place. However, we also spend time walking our dog Waffles around our neighborhood every day for a more relaxed, tiny little adventure. We get adventurous in the kitchen as well; we both love to cook, and Brooklyn loves to bake as well. We also love going out and trying new restaurants and eating a variety of foods from all different parts of the world. When Aaron has time, he gets very adventurous with our boat and loves to fish, he goes out as much as possible and cannot wait to teach your child everything he knows about fishing and the ocean. That is one of his biggest passions and it is beautiful. Brooklyn, unfortunately, does not get to go on the fishing trips if they involve the ocean, as she gets sick on the boat, but loves being going in the water to free dive with Aaron. It truly is an amazing experience. Another one of Aaron’s biggest passions is dirt biking. He taught Brooklyn how to ride a dirt bike and, although it is more of his passion, she still enjoys doing it and loves the adrenaline rush. We are low-key people as well and like to relax at home with each other and Waffles. We love watching movies at home and at the theater to see the latest blockbuster. We also enjoy concerts and really doing anything together. Just being together is the icing on the cake.
