From Us to You...

Dear Expectant Mother,

First, we would like to thank you and let you know how much respect we have for you. We hope you are loved and supported during this time. We cannot fully understand the emotions you are currently facing or the difficulty of your decision, but we are forever grateful that you are considering us to raise your child.

We have always wanted to be parents and grow our family. We knew it may be difficult, considering Kelli’s medical and fertility issues, but we had always considered adoption even before it had become the most likely way to grow our family. No family is ever perfect, but there is no shortage of love in ours for both you and your child. Your child will be raised with plenty of love and support.

We hope to provide the best life for your child, helping them to be successful, and grow to be strong and courageous. We hope to instill Shane’s work ethic and love for learning and Kelli’s drive and initiative. We will provide them with quality education and the values they need to be successful in their future endeavors. At the same time, we will strive every day to be better parents than we were the day before and always remember the gift your child is to us.

We want you to know that we are prepared to be as much a part of your journey before birth that you want us to be. We want your child to know who they are and have a sense of identity growing up. Dependent on your comfort level, we hope to develop a relationship with you that allows us to support a family relationship with your child growing up.

A Bit About Our Lifestyle

We like to keep ourselves busy, but also appreciate just binging a show on the couch. We both work full time, and we are also both pursuing higher education. Our schooling commitments are coming to an end, and we both pride ourselves that our schooling experiences have taught us to balance work, school, and family. We know and value the importance of finding time for self-care and family.

Fun Fact! We both love learning about history and often make a historic landmark or museum a destination on vacation.

Weekdays we eat dinner together whether its cooked or takeout. We both enjoy going to the gym, and we often go together on the weekend and complete our separate workouts. Sundays, we are not consistent, but do try to find time to go to church.

Weekdays or weekends, we enjoy getting out of the house and trying new things. We both grew up hiking, kayaking, and camping and would like to continue getting outside as a family. We often find ourselves walking around local small towns and trying new restaurants; it is always a plus if the weather is good and we can take our pup Reagan.

Why We're Choosing to Adopt

When we first started dating, one of the initial ways we connected was our shared desire to start a family. We have always considered adoption as a way to grow our family. Kelli has some medical issues and knew their would be fertility struggles. With the fertility issues continuing to worsen, we have decided that we would love and desire to grow our family by providing a loving home to an adopted child. We dream of being parents and would be honored to be chosen by an expectant mother to raise her child.

Meet Shane, by Kelli

Shane and I met on an app like a lot of people nowadays. I remember finding Shane and thinking he was ‘rough around the edges’ based on his profile, but he is so much more than meets the eye. I knew Shane would be my best friend and life long partner when he provided me comfort in midst of my deepest insecurities; this is something only my mother had ever been able to do. Shane is and continues to be the most caring and patient person I know. These are the traits and reasons I love Shane, but they are also the reasons I know he will make a great father.

Fun Fact! Shane really enjoys metal music and checking out local record stores.

Shane did not have the easiest upbringing, but he has persevered, has had a stable job for 18 years as a heavy equipment operator and purchased a house all on his own. He never gives up. Shane returned to school after over 17 years to pursue a degree in Diesel Mechanics. Shane has so much love to give and would truly make a great role model for anyone; he is my rock & I am blessed to be on this journey with him.

Meet Kelli, by Shane

Meeting Kelli was the best thing that could of happened to me. Seeing her in her wedding dress the day of our wedding was the happiest day of my life. I loved bringing all the family together for a day to celebrate. Her and I both can’t wait to add an addition to our little family.

Fun Fact! Kelli loves aquariums! We make it a point to visit them whenever we travel.

She has helped me become a better man by encouraging me to better myself, by going back to school & making a career change. She has shown me that there is more to life than just work, and taking time off to spend time together has been so beneficial. Since her and I have been together we have gone to church and she has motivated me to get baptized in the Catholic Church. Kelli and I have done so much together including an amazing trip to Hawaii. I have enjoyed watching her achieve her goals. I saw her walk down the aisle for her masters degree, rank up in the military & study for her PhD. I look forward to raising a child with Kelli and instilling core values that we both share.

Favorite Traditions

We have friends and family spread out across the US, so we like to connect and find time to travel to see them or for a celebration (big and small) throughout the year. Holidays we try to visit with family and friends near and far. Many of our friends are ‘couple’ friends and/or growing their families themselves so your child will have plenty of ‘cousins’.

We are growing our family and still developing our family traditions. We enjoy sharing holidays with family and/or friends. 4th of July we love to see fireworks. Thanksgiving we love a big meal with friends and family. Christmas we decorate our tree with unique decorations and hope that your child’s creations will add to these ornaments. Christmas Eve we enjoy a dinner of 7 fishes which is an American Italian Christian tradition- the twist is it is not just ‘fish’, but really 7 different seafood dishes. We hope these traditions will grow just like our family.

We Love Where We Live!

Our home is a townhome in an apartment community. We recently moved out of a house to be closer to family, friends, work, and other community places. Our townhome is 3 stories where one of the masters will become your child’s nursery/room. Our neighborhood has a mix of different families, pets, and children; all of whom are very friendly.

We really appreciate the location being less than 10 minutes from Shane’s parents, less than 30 minutes to work, and maybe an hour from the beach. We have a pool and gym in our community that is great for BBQs and having company. We also have the ability to walk to both trails and stores. There are several towns nearby and each often have farmer’s markets, fairs, and parades. We love finding new adventures and there is not a shortage of them in our area. We want to ensure your child is in a place with activities they enjoy and in schools where they will thrive; we are confident that we can do that in our community.

Family and Friends

For us, family and friends are one and the same. We have friends and family all over the US. Kelli grew up and attended college in the northeast, while Shane grew up in California but has a lot of family spread out across the West Coast.

Growing up, Kelli was close enough to her grandparents that if she was sick she would spend time with her Nana and Grandpa while mom/dad were at work, either playing cards with Nana or helping Grandpa on the cash register in his store. We hope to continue this bond with your child where we are always close enough to our friends and family for childcare support so they too can develop their own cherished memories. Our parents have both been married for over 35 years and we have plenty of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. We both grew up very close with our siblings. Shane has both an older and younger sister and loved taking snowboarding trips with them. Kelli and her older brother were always each other’s ride partner at amusement parks. We hope to continue to grow our family so your child can develop a brotherly/sisterly love too.

Racial and Cultural Diversity

Adoption, race, and identity are all critical and important concepts that we will help your child learn and understand as they grow. We are both surrounded by diversity in our jobs/lives. We accept the beauty and challenges that come with raising a child of a different race/ethnicity than our own.

We intend to teach your child to treat everyone with respect no matter what they look like. We also believe in continuous learning and will continue to learn about the race and ethnicity of your child so that we can properly help them develop their identity. We want your child to always have a sense of belonging and help them navigate their beautiful adoption story.

Meet our pup Reagan!

Reagan is a huge part of our lives and is very excited to be a big brother. We try to include Reagan in as many activities as we can, and he definitely keeps us active. Reagan is an Australian Kelpie, who we rescued in 2022. He is energetic, sneaky, smart, caring, and loving. Reagan is great with other animals, babies, children, and people, but also has a great sense for danger, barking to notify us when people we may not see are approaching. We hope Reagan and your child become best friends.
